Review on Motorcraft PW423 New Water Pump: Optimal Performance Guaranteed by Carlito Tardy

As some other people have pointed out these water pumps may be illegal. Many of them don't come in genuine Ford packaging (although mine did), some are beaten up or in poor condition straight out of the box, some have suspicious markings (like mine). And some people claim that these are very old pumps that have been in stock for 10+ years which would make sense in my case. Mine was covered in rust right out of the box. The impeller had rust on all welds and joints. I wouldn't trust my 100,000-kilometer truck to do that. Sharpie can be the original quality control mark, but it can also indicate that it has been redesigned. I'm sending this one back and asking for a replacement. Will update after I get a new one. UPDATE: The replacement I received was also covered in rust. I have asked for a refund and am going to the OEM for the theft.
