Does not work with most windows. Tiny. Only suitable for kittens.

Jackson is 5 months old, weighs 7 pounds and fits...so far. Very tiring to assemble. It took about 35 minutes. Not strong and not strong. Very thin. The only way to fit in the window is to open it slightly, which doesn't do us any good in the humid south. What can it do better? Approximately 4-6 inches wider and there is an alternative mounting method without inserting two metal L brackets into the window opening. We have pretty standard windows so I'm not sure who designed them or what kind of windows they will ever fit in.
