These genuine 925 Sterling Silver hook earrings are engraved 925 along the ring making them hypoallergenic and resistant to rusting and chipping. The hooks come in a plastic case as shown in the picture, and a small cleaning cloth (not shown in the picture) is also included. I was blown away by the sterling silver claim as the silver is lighter in color (hook 1) than other sterling silver hooks I've had (2.3). After scraping off one of the hooks in the packaging to check if the silver was just a plating, I found that the entire item was silver (the gold color is the plating and the silver is underneath). The most notable downside is that the wire is very thin and bends easily, which is fine for small, light pendants but not as effective for heavier items. If you plan to use them for small earrings or lightweight earrings the hooks are the perfect size, but for heavier earrings I would recommend hooks with a wire gauge similar to hook #3 in the picture.
