I spent $140 on the SereneSun LE PRO. Only a little. Not a complete sentence. Glows bright enough for an aquarium with plants. The remote control is cheap and often requires you to press the buttons multiple times for the device to respond. LED colors are good. The so-called lock button doesn't seem to do anything. According to the instructions, the lock mode should lock the controls so that other IR remote controls (TV etc.) cannot accidentally change the lighting settings. The screen should say it's locked, but nothing happens when I press the lock button. Programming isn't difficult, but it's a multi-step process, and the incredibly short "downtime" during programming doesn't leave much time to read the instructions, find the buttons, and move on to the next step. I kept having to start over because it would time out and the device would go back to the home screen and discard my settings. You must complete each step within 5 seconds or your settings will be lost. I don't like how the wire clips stick out 2 1/2 inches from the tank. Tank. When raised 2 1/2 inches, the LEDs brighten the room. We have an aquarium in the living room where we watch movies after dark. I don't like how the light in the aquarium "spreads" the light around the room. In timer mode B you can set the color of sunrise/sunset, daylight and moonlight. However, if you don't make the adjustments quickly enough, your settings will be lost. There is no indication of this other than the indicator "flashing" when the record is successfully saved. There is no indication that the customization failed, except that it does not when this period is enabled. I haven't found a way to change the length of the sunrise/sunset and moonlight periods. I bought the "LE" version of the SunSerene light. It is white. I really didn't want white, but black didn't seem to be available anywhere. UPDATE: I just got sound and I love it. It's a nice touch. I'm considering ordering a backlight next. UPDATE 2: After trying this product I upgraded it to four stars. It's really very good. I wish it was SMART and had a programming app, but I'll take my word for it being overpriced. That's the right price. I would pay more for the features I mentioned but am happy with this purchase.
