Not as quiet as I expected

I like the size and the design. Inexpensive. This is the smallest I could find. However, I expected this device to be quieter. On low settings it's louder than my old 2005 30-pin device. I don't think it covers up to 1500 square feet either. ft. I use it in 850 sq. ft. m and works around the clock, reducing humidity by 5% per day. It worked better in a smaller room (11 x 16 feet). general average.
