I was honestly afraid to buy this for my ferrets because a lot of the reviews had negative reviews about how it snaps in, how thin the panels are or how plastic A folder is like the wire is not metal. The list goes on and on. I swallowed a bullet and bought it. I'm so happy I did! Neither of these things were true, and it looks like the manufacturer heard the complaints and included a small mallet, zip ties, and instructions. I haven't used cable ties or a hammer yet. It was very easy to piece together several different shapes as long as the shape has 90 degree corners. This pen is aesthetically pleasing and comes with cute stickers to stick on the panel. I gave them to my kids but they were cute. I was worried my ferrets might open the panels but so far this hasn't happened. You can't go out either. I'll keep testing this and update my review if anything changes, but so far so good. My ferrets love to push their limits and love to run away from anything that contains them so they will definitely challenge this pen.
