Very convenient!
I absolutely hate having thread sticking out of my organizer. These little things are perfect, they slide right onto the spool where the free end is and slide back when you need the line. I've used them with both my regular thread and the tapered thread I use for my overlock. Now if only they made little tiny ones that I could put on my spools and still put them in my spool storage box.
