Some people think it's stupid to use a parallel cable these days. But it's not stupid if you want to save on USB distribution. Of course, finding a computer with a parallel port is difficult. Finding the right parallel cable is even more difficult. It's bidirectional, which means faster speeds, EPP-enabled, and parallel port acceleration you need for HP multifunction devices and printers, even modern ones, if you don't use the USB port to connect to your printer. It took me over an HOUR to find this on Revain because the vendors don't properly label their parallel cables. So pay attention to the label on this one. 10 feet should be the old limit for fast cable transmission, but that's no longer the case. However, if your device is older, it already "expects" a cable no longer than 10 feet, so stick with that size. (Not sure if this matters for post-2008 hardware). Older Zip and Imation drives have a splitter that allows parallel connections, although they plug into the parallel port first. Also, they "expect" no more than 10 feet. So keep that in mind. In your case, it doesn't matter how long. But everything that can go wrong with computers has happened to me (or seems to be true), so I'm trying to remember those mysterious details. One final note, if you have machines that are more than 10 years old, this cable can be tricky to install. to the parallel port on the back of the computer. I couldn't install this cable on my old Dells from the early 1990's. But on my cars in 2005-2006 it was well received.
