unscented detergent. I followed the directions on the bottle. When I took the laundry out of the dryer, it didn't smell at all. On my next load, I wash the clothes with unscented detergent and pop them in the dryer with dryer balls, one of which contained 4 drops of Plant Therapy Sparkling Grapefruit Laundry Mix (the drops wash out pretty quickly, but I'd prefer these). than waiting forever for a drop to fall). The clothes came out with a pleasant aroma! The scent is not strong but I like it. I no longer use fabric softener, just a little bit of vinegar in the rinse cycle and was looking for something that would make the laundry smell nice. I would buy again!
