We have one last adventure planned to hike around the frozen falls. The cat selection wasn't great and the reviews of them were pretty terrible, but we chose this set. Everything else was expensive and they all arrived the day we left. They were supposed to arrive on the day we left, but luckily they arrived a day early. We bought four sets and came to the following conclusions: Those who wore winter boots had problems with slipping. The hiking boots had no problems with slipping. (I had hiking shoes. I never had to brace myself for a 5 mile hike. And it was very difficult 5 mile terrain). They had great traction and SURE the terrain was extremely icy. Will they survive my second winter? I don't see why not. However they are a bit rusty but I think there is something to spray on them to prevent this.
