Review on Modway Confer Dining Fabric Chair by Robert Chandrasekar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Seems well made

This chair allows my wife to exercise. Her routine includes stretches and other moves that require her to hold on to a fixed object, such as a chair, for support. So my rating is based on that and not on a dining chair that is used for a lot of sitting on a daily basis. We sit in it now and then, but not for long. So I'm going to address a big issue that seems to be a complaint and even a reason I hesitated a bit before buying it myself. Complaining that your legs are the wrong length and end up rocking in an unstable chair. The legs are adjustable, mine is perfectly balanced now, all 4 are right on the ground. But it took 3 tries to reach perfection and I will share a secret with you. The instructions say to loosely attach the legs, place a heavy weight on the chair, and tighten them. So I sat my wife in a chair that was comfortable on the floor (hard floor, no carpet) and I tightened the screws on the legs. She got up and BAM! The chair wobbled so much it wobbled and one leg was almost 3/4 inch shorter. What the hell? So I did it again and this time I made sure it sat perfectly in the middle of the chair. I undid the screws again and thought to myself maybe if she leans to the side then it will come off? All tight again, she stands up.BAM same.stones on a very short leg.fabric and when she sits in, the chair itself yields and shifts. I realized that her weight was actually throwing the chair out of alignment. So I undid everything again and did NOT have her sit on it or add heavy weight as instructed. I thought if this is the shape of the chair, how it's made, then this is where it will always click when no one is sitting on it. I tense my legs again. After I tightened the screws, all of the legs sat squarely on the floor. Perfect. And when we're sitting in, they're still tight to the ground. Floor. No swaying - no short legs - no swaying. No problem. I hope this helps and eliminates problems with legs that are too short. The point is not in the legs, but in the adjustment when putting them on. I recommend a hard floor over carpet, and contrary to the instructions, I recommend raising your legs in the chair without weight. worked for me Much luck.
