I bought headphones from three different brands at once - Maeline Bulk disposable headphones plus Panasonic RP-HV096-K and Edifier H180 HiFi. Maelines are definitely cheap and your expectations should be the same. In my opinion, they are not suitable for music at all. However, I think they are suitable for audio books, classroom activities, talk radio, podcasts, etc. I plan to use them to listen to audiobooks while I work without fear of them getting stuck and damaging them, especially given the price. . Panasonic was a good compromise for a lower price with normal sound. I recommend them if you want something decent but still reasonably priced. The stem of the Panasonic is slightly off-centre, which I found quite handy. The Edifiers were great for the full range of music in my collection, I highly recommend them if you want something for the discerning person but still under $20. Maeline and Panasonic did NOT include foam sleeves if that's what you prefer, but regular cheap foam sleeves will fit in just fine. I chose the Sunmns 48 package for this and I am satisfied.
