Review on ๐Ÿ€ Lee's Clear 5-Inch Kritter Krawler Mini Exercise Ball by Katie Harris

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cheap plastic of course

I bought this for a pocket mouse I originally found in my yard (it's about 3/4 the size of a golf ball and my cats eyed it so I do it doesn't just catch the poor thing) and it fit in perfectly, although unless the mouse ran about halfway down the page it wouldn't be able to roll it, so maybe I needed even less than a mini? Micro? In any case, it didn't take long for him to look very dirty as he rolled across the painted concrete floor, my mouse couldn't even climb onto the carpet without the help of some friendly cats who "nudged him gently". . Went to wash and found it still looks dirty after drying. I tried letting it sit and it still looked cloudy/dirty. Eventually I realized that the tiny mouse was insanely worn out both inside and out after only a few uses on a smooth floor. Most likely the mouse couldn't see where it was going at all, which would explain why it later started just rolling and then just sat there until I picked it up. Eventually the mouse died and I moved in with some female Rex rats from a breeder. Got them as soon as they were old enough to fend for themselves and they were clearly outsized for this thing by the time they were only a few weeks old. It's recommended not to use such balls on rats at all (or even wheels, especially wire balls) and I definitely don't recommend this one, especially because it doesn't flex their spine properly and their toes and tail are longer than mice's. it is much more possible to compress and decompress bits. One suggestion I would like to make is that the sphere could be split down the middle in addition to or instead of a tiny porthole at the end. Even poking my tiny mouse in and out was painful, resulting in more than one escape and pursuit attempt.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember
