I wasn't really expecting to write a review for this purchase but I was blown away. So it's just an HDMI switch, right? Well, it's also a smart device that automatically switches to a device that transmits a signal over HDMI. I bought it because I was tired of manually pulling out the HDMI and plugging it into my Blu-ray or Roku. Despite putting off this purchase for so long (not because of the cost, but because of laziness), I realized that my laziness could be taken to another level. I was skeptical because another remote control would do it, blah blah blah. When installing this item, I chose not to install the remote access feature (an additional IR reader that connects to the device is included), but instead got up from the remote. Couch to manually press the button when I wanted to switch between Blu-ray and Roku. To my surprise - when I plugged this in and tested it with the Blu-ray, I then turned off my Blu-ray and turned on my Roku and Poof! As if by magic from the couch potato gods, the switch automatically recognized the Roku signal and switched automatically. I was stunned and joy was on my face. I know it's basic technology, but I'm wondering why it even comes with a remote control? My only thought is that if you're the kind of person who prefers to have all your devices on at all times, you probably need to toggle them with your remote.
