Support: We have used CamelBak products for many years. We have never had any quality problems. We had an issue with a package we received from Revain. But a quick (I mean quick) CamelBak email and we were back on track. Customer support - 10 out of 10 - really. Pouch: It's true that it will leak if you don't put the lid on properly. However, if you attach it correctly, it will not leak. If you're like many hikers or mountain bikers, bring a bottle of water. The average water bottle is about 23 ounces. So 70 ounces is like carrying 3 water bottles. For me, as an avid mountain biker, that means a four-hour ride on a mild day. I know it's against "medical advice" but there are no restrooms along the way so be careful. With large backpacks, I would always fill my bag up to half full, and then when I got home I found I always had water left. Think about it - 100 ounces is like 4 bottles of water. I can't drink that much water in one day! Another benefit of 70 ounces is that you don't have a hot pocket on your back. The small form factor offers a snug fit and enough extra room for a regular bike or a hike. NOTE. You need to know your body and your needs. I'm not giving medical advice here, just sharing my personal experience. Use and Care: When I go out I like to pack some lemon juice in my bag. This improves the taste of the water. The wide opening of the pack also makes it easy to add ice. Not too much ice or you'll be dry and waiting for the ice to melt. After the ride, I just rinse the bag and then pour some water out of the hose. Finally I add paper towels or custom made plastic liners to air dry the bag. Note. When you pour water out of the bag, a small amount of water will remain in the bag on the lid. Simply run a paper towel into the bag to draw out any remaining water. The rest can simply be air dried. You can also shake the bag to let air in, close the lid and blow any remaining water out of the tube. This is just my routine as I switch from a water bottle to a water bag depending on my hiking/travel needs. I personally never put a cloth towel in my water bag or use a cloth towel when cooking in the kitchen. Why blame CamelBak when you've stuffed a dirty rag in your backpack? Quality: I have CamelPak products that are several years old and show NO signs of wear. The quality is EXCELLENT. No, I don't work for CamelBak. I leave a lot of negative reviews about Revain but when I come across a great product like CamelBak I have no choice but to be honest and admit that they are great.
