As it turns out, my little dog is seriously disproportionate. I had no real idea until I measured him for this vest where his neck turned out to be "small", his chest turned out to be bordering on "medium" and his length under "large". " fell. What the hell!? I went for the large, which is awkward considering he's 18lbs soaking wet, but it was a good decision as the vest covers his entire back. The looser neck area actually worked in his favor as it was more comfortable and the fabric, which has significant stretch, works great in his chest area too. The vest is really cute. It offers the warmth I was looking for as well as the feel good factor. While my dog has a few different outfits, the puff vest I have for him has made him look out of place and out of place at home. This vest is ideal for wearing at home on cold evenings and for sleeping. It's also nice that it has rings you can attach a leash to to wear as a harness. However, if you need more control when walking your dog, I would suggest leaving the leash attached to the collar. the good one doesn't seem to roll off (yet) and above all he likes to wear it! I highly recommend this item. If it was just a few bucks cheaper I would buy one of each color.
