After a lot of research I decided on the D3300 and I am very happy with it. I will say that my father and father-in-law both work for Nikon so I was a little impressed just knowing that Nikon makes excellent quality products. This camera is easy to use, it has plenty of YouTube videos showing you how to use it, you can start shooting in modes like aperture priority mode (my new favorite) right away, and I've never taken photos in anything other than auto mode , which makes photography really interesting to explore. The camera has an excellent built-in guide to help show you the settings and what they mean, making this camera easy to learn and become familiar with. I chose the D3300 over the D3400 because with the limitation of not being able to upload an image larger than 2MB with SnapBridge, I didn't need to use that feature as I just plugged a memory card into my PC to save my images to upload quickly. This camera takes great photos, it's light and easy to hold, and its price is great value. I plan to use this camera for many years and am really looking forward to improving my photography skills. In the future I plan to buy 2 lenses, a 35mm and a 55-200mm DX, but for now this kit lens is fine.
