Review on πŸͺš Optimize Lumber Storage with Stormann Wall-Mounted Metal Rack - 3 Level Wood Organizer (Pack of 2) by Will Singh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This two-pack works best when all of your wood is the same length.

I have a detached garage with unfinished interior walls (ie protruding studs and blocks of plywood) and the floor on one side has long been filled with various boards of all sizes. So this shelf seemed like a good way to get the wood off the floor and sort it out a bit too. I installed both parts of this two-piece pack but got stuck when considering distance because only part of my stored lumber is 8 feet long; Many of them are 6 feet or even 3 feet long. Once I was sure the system was working, I ordered a second set and spaced them out 16/16/32 inch apart. This allowed me to support 8ft boards, as well as 24" and 60" boards, with each board having at least two supports (specifically, other manufacturers sell such wall shelves in sets of 4 instead of 2). If you are mounting behind drywall in studs, the included screws will not work as they only extend about 1.2" beyond the square tube of the stud itself. However, my block goes flush with the 2x4 studs and the bite of the lag bolts seems adequate. There isn't much vertical clearance between the three brackets, but I'm pretty happy with how many logs I was able to move off the floor (you can see I mounted the shelves high enough on the garage wall) while still leaving other storage options under and behind this shelf.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Compatibility
