This is the BIG problem!

I usually wear a size 8 or M but I will listen to the reviews and order more or less depending on what they say. I was hesitant to order this suit for a 10 or 8 as I had measurements for both sizes so I went with the reviewers and ordered a 10. It fit well but I knew it was too big. There was excess fabric in the armpits, at the back end, and in particular the thought that the crotch fabric was cut too loose so that it bunched up and cut into the inner thigh at that particular point is unsatisfactory. I also noticed that the front view is much prettier than the side view because, like many one-piece suits, the lower back doesn't sit flush with the body and hugs the curves. Instead, it detaches from the body and forms a vertical line instead of following the curve of the buttocks all the way to the lower back. Therefore, the illusion of a much wider center is created than it really is. If I ever got in the water with it, it would fill up with water and float on top of me. So I reordered and got 8. The fabric no longer compresses in the armpits and the buttocks fit better but that lower back placement just above the butt was sooooo unflattering, even tighter in this one and looked horrible from the side. I also don't have a particularly long torso and looked like a log. So if you have a long torso, you should avoid it. Additional fabric should have been allowed at this point to allow the suit to hug the curves rather than pull on the body and this was even more evident in the smaller size. The crotch was still too big and clumped up uncomfortably, I was able to pull out all the extra fabric and make a little boy out of it, it was too much. So I guess it really depends on whether you have a long torso or not, and butt size matters too. There are many variables that need to line up for your body to make this suit fit. I would say if you have a long torso don't worry especially if you have a butt. This thing isn't going to wrap around your lower back and make you look like a straight vertical line, and you won't be able to get it off your body fast enough. I can't really explain the big stride, it definitely didn't suit me, I don't have a big stride). If you have a short torso this might work, so if you have that and Prime give it a try. Otherwise it was very well made, the fabric definitely felt high quality and nice. I want it to suit me.

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are flaws
