Review on Samsung SyncMaster 171S Monitor Black 1280X1024, USB Hub, by Mark Mazumdar

I bought my 171S in late 2002. I remember it cost about $675 at the time. It's been running 14-16 hours a day ever since, throughout the life of both the Win 98 computer and now that the Win XP box is about to be retired. The only problem and a recent discovery is that the PSU won't start if it gets very cold, apparently it's dead until the temp returns to normal. (Probably tired old electrolytic capacitors.) Found after the power was out for 10 hours due to an ice storm and the temperature in the house dropped to 45F! So what? Reliable for 10 years! I'm hoping that the new Dell 22 inch LED backlit LCD monitor I have will be just as reliable.
