That seems like a good idea, and maybe for some floors it is. However, I live in New Mexico, the ground here isn't rocky, it's dense, and they're practically useless. They all bent long before I put them in place. I've tried several options. I'd be fine if they bent but still held on. However, after all the work of driving these useless stakes into the ground, it was almost no effort to get them out again. They are too thin and too long. They won't hold up our trampoline at all in a hurricane.
