When I received the manual it cleared up some confusion about how I expected the player to work. Battery life is always subjective, no matter the device. I rated it five stars because it meets my needs. Each piece of equipment requires training; This one is no exception. I want the automatics to pick up where it left off when listening to music. This feature is available, but only if you invoke it manually at startup. It's not a deal breaker, I just wish it would work the same as say an audio book. Ease of use is also subjective. After playing with this player for about a week, I became much more familiar with how it works and how to use it. Everyone has to determine the sound quality for themselves. The sound system in my car will be great for some and subjective for others. Headphones are about the same. Sound quality when played through my home audio system is extremely subjective, but personally I enjoy it the most. I hope all of this helps others.
