I have been meaning to write this review for a while. I bought this mattress protector for a new loft bed mattress I bought for my 9 year old. It is very thin and appears breathable although I don't sleep on it. So thin in fact that I really didn't think it would prevent a serious accident or spill. But I was wrong! My son accidentally spilled a whole mug of hot chocolate in his bed and neglected to tell me and then went to school and being that it is a loft bed I didn't realize until that night when he was getting reading for bed. I thought for sure the mattress would be ruined with wet liquid sitting on it all day, but the mattress was completely dry with no stains! Buy this mattress protector, you can't beat it for the price and you won't be disappointed
