Reliable radio communication essential for emergencies

Power outages are now a part of everyday life in California. I had an emergency kit with a cheap version of the clockwork radio. When the electricity went out for the first time last summer. I turned it on and got about 30 seconds of radio. After two days of no power, no wifi, no cell phone, I realized that I need to get serious about emergency preparedness, so I read the reviews and ordered this model. This model is easy to start, holds a charge, has a solar panel as an additional source and a bright light - all part of the radio.
