I received this case for a small camera and some accessories. In fact, it can be used for anything. It seems like a good case, with a deep enough bottom for small cameras or other small electronics and a mesh pocket for lots of small items. It also has small pockets for things like USB sticks or memory cards. The exterior is sturdy so should offer a decent level of protection. It has a carrying handle but no shoulder strap. I think you could put it under the car seat or in the glove box when you want to store small car equipment or tools.
