Review on Adam Illy VIR1872 Drawers Baroque by Sophie Martines

First of all, this dresser is beautiful. The wood seems to be of good quality, the finishes are beautiful, the size is perfect. The dresser itself looks expensive, making this purchase a steal at first glance. However, the gathering was terrible. Simply, the craziest, most pointless, actually WRONG assembly instructions. The dresser came in three boxes. There is a huge amount of fittings and wooden panels. There were no words in the building instructions themselves, just diagrams printed in such small print that the hardware used in each set was difficult to decipher. At certain points the instructions were completely wrong and we had to use common sense to figure out which bits to use instead. My dad (a 52 year old woodworker who builds wooden canoes for fun) helped me assemble it and said it was the worst assembly instructions (or lack thereof) he had ever seen. I highly recommend having someone around who is good with tools and can make holes and gouges in wood; There were parts of my dresser that did not have holes/notches. With two people the total build time was about 5 hours which is CRAZY. Moral of the story: if you can manage to fully assemble this dresser and get away with it with your sanity, it's amazing and affordable. Can I recommend this chest of drawers to mediocre jacks of all trades? Absolutely not. @Seller, please for gods sake update your building instructions and make sure all your wooden parts have the correct pre-drilled holes/grooves :)
