Custom Enamel Pins/Backs

TLDR: These are not standard enamel pins, do not buy these if you are expecting a back with pins and snaps that can be used on a bulletin board or attached firmly to thick fabrics. Enamelled pins usually have one or two sharp prongs as their backs, allowing them to be used on a bulletin board or securely fastened to clothing or bags with a fastener (usually a padlock). About half of them have a standard backing, the other half have a long Velcro backing, which is not only much weaker, but also not suitable for my purposes. I will not attach them to my clothes or backpack because they will come loose and get lost, they should be on my bulletin board and cannot. From what I could see upon purchase they were listed as standard enamel pins and I have never received enamel hook and loop pins. They are very pretty and I'm sure you can find more detailed photos or some other style statement somewhere in the fine print, but the backs of the hooks are flexible when attached to the fabric unless stretched and too loose in contact stay put and won't tear or be lost forever when pulled through thick fabric, and they're useless if, like me, you're buying them for a bulletin board and not as a clothing accessory. Edit: I went back and scrolled through all the images in the list, third or fourth after the close-ups of the pens themselves, and the image with their measurements has a back-down photo showing some of them. have a different background. I guess I should have paid more attention to that - it just didn't occur to me because the first set I bought (on ebay) had standard backs. So I assumed, especially if not in the first two pictures, that this is an identical set. It really doesn't make sense to me that they wouldn't have a hook or a standard back, but this is what is shown in one of the pictures. While I'm personally not happy with the product and find mixing standard enamel pins with hook pins a confusing marketing ploy, there is a picture to let potential buyers know that I missed.

Pros
  • I love them all, they are so cute and I just love them
Cons
  • Fragile Design: The fragile design of the enamel pens is easy to break or damage when carried, which will shorten the life of the product. This can lead to the constant need to purchase additional pens, which increases the total cost of ownership.
