At first I wasn't sure I needed this. I didn't want to use optical for my system. Instead, I wanted to use a digital coaxial cable. I'm not familiar with other streaming devices, but the Sonos Connect seems to have all the digital outputs working simultaneously, so I was able to use the included optical cable just for the trigger function and still be able to use the digital coax cable for the actual audio signal. to the rest of the system. So it turned out to be perfect for me. Now my Cambridge Dacmagic, Emotiva and Emotiva T2 mono blocks are essentially one big cool Sonos speaker system. This works seamlessly with both Tidal and Spotify, even without installing the Sonos app. This trigger is actually the missing link for everything to work together. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to add streaming capabilities to a standalone system without having to get up and turn amps on and off. No complaints. Great device!
