Came in a box, tightly packed but it was swollen. I ordered large but received XLarge. I thought I would have problems but since it's not for me my dog had no problems and loved it. I couldn't pick it up for her fast enough. Then she immediately dropped and I had to push the bed into place with her. Dog allowed. My pup is 14" and size XL fits her which tells me they run very small. The only negative I see and it's my fault, don't buy a brown bed for a brown dog. You never know if she's inside or not, especially in the dark. Bought a different size L this time. She looks a little different as the material is a bit shaggy but she loves it and snuggles really well in it. approved.
