Quality seems high

The system is of high quality. However, there is no instruction manual. Is the big red knob around the gauge a valve handle to control airflow? Tried turning it both ways to no avail. Please check! Update: The seller got back to me quickly and explained that the red structure around the pressure gauge is not for valve control, but to protect the pressure gauge. I have raised my rating to 5 stars.
