I originally rated these as a 3 star, but having removed the tags and washed them I like them much better. . These are a heavy cotton and great for those hot days working in the yard. When I wore the first pair I felt like a mosquito was biting me in the back. Upon checking there seemed to be "plastic thread" which was used to sew the tags on to the elastic waste band. At first I was upset because I thought they just sewed the tags INTO the band, but upon closer inspection I found I could use a seam ripper and remove the tags without opening up the seams on the waste band. I would also mention that the leg seams and waste seams are quite thick so if you are wearing pants that show the panty line, I'd not choose these.When I got an email from the company asking my input, they offered to refund my money. After i found I could remove the tags with little effort I decided to keep them.
