As a professional makeup artist, I'm always looking for new ways to apply different types of face paint - cream, liquid, powder. Lately I've been really interested in the egg-shaped sponge applicators, and I've been dying to try the silicone applicators as well. Unfortunately, they don't work as well as sponges. Silicone applicators blur makeup instead of applying it, leaving it where you need it. Mixing is not possible. And they don't work with powder at all - it flies away before I can even get near my face. And while they're easy to wash - make-up stains stay and they don't look clean - so I can't use them in a professional setting. A great use I've found for them is as an afterthought. When removing a client's makeup, I like to massage my face with baby oil to protect her skin. They're great at it because they're so soft. Better than fingers, especially around the eyes.
