Review on πŸ‘Ά Mimos Baby Pillow: Ideal Solution for Plagiocephaly and Pressure Distribution in Infants (M) by Kenneth Stanford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My child is now wearing a helmet (aka the pad didn't work)

My daughter was rated for the recommended helmet. She has no asymmetry, but the back of the head is rather flat. Upon evaluation, we received photos of her head and measurements that showed flatness. Although this pad is expensive, we thought it was worth trying to avoid the helmet. I'm paranoid about SIDS so I wanted something breathable. I was skeptical that the pillow would breathe, but when we received it I was pleasantly surprised that it did. It's incredibly breathable. And it's durable. And for that, the pillow gets a star. On the other hand, the pillow is so light (because it's so breathable) that my daughter doesn't keep her head on the pillow. She has been using it for about 4-6 months. Every night her head slipped off the pillow. I would switch it around as much as possible, but to no avail. Sometimes she would lift the pillow and it would rest at the base of her cradle. When we used it in her rock 'n' play she pulled it out and it ended up in her face. He was too light to stay put. Staying on the pillow, she felt uncomfortable as her head was tilted slightly forward. If, and this is very important, you can get your child to stay on the pillow, then this pillow might work. After two months we returned to the helmet place and she had a slight improvement. Now she wears a helmet. While I wouldn't recommend this pillow, I fully understand the appeal of having to pay a lot less for a SIDS-safe pillow than for a helmet. And maybe that alone is worth the price for some people.
