This blanket was purchased for my 10 year old who loves video games and needed an age appropriate blanket. It's soft and warm. It's not very thick, but he says it warms him up well in the cold. The design is great for kids/teens as it's not a toddler or special character that they can outgrow in a few years so I can see this design will last him a few years. We have washed and dried the duvet and it has held up well with no wear or pilling and no lumps in the inner padding. It says it glows in the dark but it's on the bottom bunk so I can't tell if that feature works or not.
