Poor performance Good for computer accessories and peripherals

I tested this cable on an external SanDisk Extreme SSD. I've measured this device delivering 550MB/s serial speed with a Gen 2 USB C-to-C cable for both read and write speeds. All 3ft cables are the same for the fastest possible speed with this SSD and don't differ much. I need a longer 6.6ft cable. I got one from Rampow and it seemed to be limited to 461MB/s read and 461MB/s write. This is basically the max speed for a Gen 1 cable and it's not clear why, other than maybe a longer length. Unhappy with it I bought this FASGEAR cable hoping it would be as fast as other 3ft cables. no Fail. This cable ran at 252MB/s read and 81MB/s write. It's rolled up, straight out of the box. hicks. it's slow In fact, he didn't finish the writing test. It got stuck on test 2 of 5. I've seen this before with another low quality cable. This was causing problems with the SSD and I had to run ChkDisk to fix it after a force quit. Strange. I unwrapped the cable (to keep it from twisting and overlapping) hoping it would run faster. nope Failure again. It was even slower this time, 101 MB/s read and 59 MB/s write. I connected the device to a different Rampow cable and tested again. And again it ran with 461 reads and 461 writes. Out of curiosity, I tested the Fasgear cable again. This time 314 reads and 202 writes. It's amazing how the speed varies from run to run and it's always a lot slower than expected. My conclusion is that this Fasgear cable cannot transmit constant data. Either because it's defective or because it's not designed for Gen 2 speeds. Anyway, back to Revane.

Pros

Cons
