Review on ☕ Coffee Gator Coffee Canister: Airtight 64floz Storage for Ground Beans - Magnetic Scoop Included - Large, Grey by Jody Hatfield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great build and capacity + great bucket

The spoon is my favorite feature and its magnetic attachment to the can ensures it doesn't get tossed in the dark drawer. The scooper has a nice deep rise at the very front, making it very easy to selectively remove beans or ground coffee from the scale. The scoop holds between 14 and 16 grams of coffee beans when brushed flush with the edge of the scoop. The canister is solid, not sure what caliber (thickness) stainless steel was used, but the construction will last for many years. The pad feels like it's made out of a very nice rubber (feels different than silicone) and looks like it will stand up to daily use for a very long time. The capacity of the canister is very large! This would be great for smaller coffee shops and even keeps coffee fresher longer in an office break room. I estimate about 2 pounds of coffee fits in here. So about a kilogram of coffee beans. My picture consists of about 350 grams of my favorite Colombian coffee. Seems to close very tightly, looking forward to prolonging the freshness of my favorite beans. 2 small remarks, the lid opens a little less than 90 degrees. I think somewhere around 115 degrees would be more comfortable. However, the lid stays on when it's fully open (perhaps this decision was made to prevent the canister from tipping over when it's almost empty and open, because it won't tip over when it's completely empty and the lid is open) . Second note: the green friction clip used to slide the cut coffee label on is very tight, too tight for the label to slip by itself. I had to use the shovel handle to gently pry it just enough to get the label through. The date dial and CO2 valve are great features that really raise the bar for coffee cans.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
