Review on Klipsch Cancelling Artificial Intelligence Hands Free by Mark Deuschle

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fantastic sound, cool design. Expensive

Box includes headphones and charging case, USB-C to USB-C cable, USB-C to USB-A adapter, wireless charging pad, five additional pairs of earbuds in different Sizes, some instruction manuals and some Klipsch and McLaren decals. Here's what I'm thinking after a few days: SOUND - These headphones sound fantastic despite what I've heard so far. Although the overall volume seems a bit lower than some other headphones I've tried; They produce a rich, clear sound. It's also an equalizer in the Klipsch Connect app, so you can switch between six preset equalizer settings (like rock, flat, podcast, etc.). or you can select "Custom" and set the bands manually for each of the frequencies. There is also a switch to toggle "Dirac HD Sound" on and off. Dirac HD Sound is an interesting feature that really works better with some types of music than others. I personally liked the difference when using Dirac HD Sound when listening to certain types of Youtube music, it really brought out more vocals and I was able to hear individual instruments better, especially in the mids. This effect was even more dramatic when listening to bass-heavy music, and this is where I actually noticed the greatest improvement. There were other times when I was listening to music on another app like Spotify and didn't really like the Dirac HD effect. I'd have to do more testing, but I'm not sure if this is related to the sound quality of the music source (i.e. does low quality Youtube videos sound better more?) or just mainly related to the type of music you listen to to. (For example, I liked the effect more on bass-heavy music than on softer acoustic guitar). So you really have to try it and see if you like the effect, it will probably depend on your taste in music. So far I mostly leave it on. COMFORT FIT. They fit my ears very well, much better than most other headphones I've tried. The weight distribution is great so they don't feel like they're constantly falling out of my ears. The inclusion of six full pairs of earbuds in different sizes is a nice touch that should allow everyone to find the earbud size that suits them. I like their shape, they don't stick out too much in my ears and they are lighter than I thought. Overall, these are arguably the most comfortable and comfortable earbuds I've tried. TRAINING/CUTE PROTECTION/WATER RESISTANCE - I've been training with them for a few days and they don't seem to be affected by sweat at all. BUTTONS - Most earbuds now come with a touch sensor, where you touch the earbud to activate activities. These headphones actually have a physical button that you press closer to your ear. It's a very flat button that's easy to press and doesn't require much effort. However, it's still very different from the usual "tap on the earpiece" design that most other brands use. I really prefer this snap button design! Sometimes I put my headband on my headphones while running, and with other headphones they can sense "phantom touches" from my headband and accidentally trigger an action like pausing the music. I no longer have this problem, no more random pause or ANC disconnection because something hits your headphones. CALLS. So far the call quality has been excellent. Everyone can hear me just fine, and people I've called have reported that there's little to no background noise, even in noisy environments or with the TV in the background. CHARGER. First, the included charging pad looks really cool. It's designed to resemble a speaker, with the speaker grille's cloth material covering the oval shape, and then with several horizontal lines of rubber material to grip it. Larger circle on the left, smaller circle on the right; The left side is for your phone and the right side is for the headphone case. There are two white indicator lights on the front of the pad to indicate when the device is charging on the left or right side. Typically, charging is very similar for all headphones, but this case seems to charge faster than any of my other earbuds. . At first I wasn't sure if the wireless charging pad itself is simply more powerful, but I've tried charging other headphones like the Galaxy and Belkin on the same pad and this Klipsch headphone case seems to fully charge significantly faster. maybe about 2/3 the time one of my other headphone cases. The Klipsch website explains that the case uses NuCurrent charging technology, and a quick look at the NuCurrent website explains some of the benefits of using this technology for faster wireless charging. BRAGI MOVES (hands-free commands) - I tested the Bragi movement. command functions, and so far they work well. Right now you can only do a few things: you can answer calls by nodding your head up and down twice, you can reject a call by shaking your head back and forth twice (e.g. left to right), or when playing music by shaking your head back and forth to skip to the next track twice. At first these motion gestures didn't work and I had to go to the interaction menu in the Klipsch Connect app and select Calibrate Gestures. . This will walk you through motion detection calibration by sitting still for a few seconds. After that, head gestures worked perfectly. Each gesture's description actually says you nod or shake your head THREE times, but I've found that it works after nodding or shaking twice each time (e.g. up down up down; or right left right left). The menu also informs you that media skipping only works for the first 10 seconds of the track being played. So far it has worked well on Spotify and Youtube. Hopefully more gesture support will be added in the future. OTHER - In the interaction menu you can also set the LEFT button on the earbud to perform any call function or music you want for single tap, double tap and triple tap. There is also a check for updates and the ability to update to the latest firmware. You can also call the default assistant by pressing and holding the right ear button for a second. GENERAL: These are great sounding headphones with nice buttons, great fit, fast wireless charging case, stylish charging case and docking station, and hands-free calling. . They really are noticeably better than any other headphones I've tried. Their main downside is the price. These headphones are very expensive and compared to other headphones I'm not sure if they are worth such a high price. This is of course a personal opinion and perhaps if you are a very big fan of the McLaren brand you may find these headphones more worth the price. Personally, I believe they can be 1.5-2 times better than headphones. various headphones in the $100 range. Based on performance, build quality, and included features/accessories, I'd be comfortable with them somewhere in the $250 range, possibly up to $300 with future software updates. The current price of $350 nudges it a bit, and it feels like you're only paying extra for the McLaren branding. Overall it's overpriced for what they are, but if you just want the best headphones available at any price point it can be hard to find better than these these days.
