I bought these to add spot lighting to the bookshelves I bought from Wayfair. Installation is as easy as it gets - peel off the red backing and attach the control button/battery case, then peel off the backing from the lights, stick on and you're done! They add a warm, much-needed glow to my shelves and almost look like they were built into them from the start, which is nice. I'm lavish, but the string of lights is longer than the shelves. I carefully trimmed the excess with scissors and they fit perfectly! Do not pull the string lights too tight when attaching, or you will tear the lights that have come loose. I didn't think the first lantern I installed wouldn't last long either, but it came off after a day - I installed another one a little longer and they stayed in place. However, the first lamp stayed in place after repeated use. All in all a cheap, effective upgrade to some already good shelves. Install some of these where you need more light and you probably won't be disappointed.
