While Windows swears up and down that this display has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (the hardware internally registers 3840 x 2160 as "native" or "recommended"), the panel itself does NOT have that resolution. When I first turned it on, I noticed that for some reason it looked blurry around the edges - almost as if it were pixel smoothing (like 4K monitors do when displaying a lower resolution than native). It turns out that it does exactly that, but not for the reason you might think. When the device connects, it identifies itself as an ASM-133UC monitor. A quick search for this part number brings up the Discontinued by Manufacturer page on Banggood, where the panel resolution is listed as **3200 x 1800** rather than the standard 3840 x 2160 resolution that we expect from a true 4K expect display. great display and perfect for my needs (I intend to keep it) THIS IS NOT A 4K DISPLAY. If your graphics card supports custom resolution detection, you can force the native resolution to 3200 x 1800 (also a 16:9 ratio) and make it pixel perfect, but not everyone will be able to do this.
