My sons are big fans of comics so I thought they would love this set. Yes, but it's not quite what I expected. What This Set Is: This is a good collection of basic drawing supplies to get you started painting. The included "book" is geared toward graphic novel style graphics, but this could work for almost anything. It contains a sharpener, an eraser, a mechanical pencil, an extra blue lead for this pencil, a synthetic pencil and six colored pencils (red, blue, grey, white, yellow and peach). good set for beginners. What this set isn't: From the description, I thought the book was a guide to drawing comics. I suppose he's trying, but it's only really useful if you already have a strong artistic background. Each page has a tiny paragraph of sentences, which is then repeated in 20 languages. There's not a lot of information out there, and unless you're really good at copying things from sight, it's not really going to help teach you how to draw. As long as you know what's going on I still think it's a good set.
