Review on Sony DSC W290 Stabilization Discontinued Manufacturer by Monica Hall

I purchased this camera after a recent trip to Disney World - my only regret is that I didn't purchase it BEFORE the trip. We were traveling with friends who had just bought this exact Cyber-shot. Almost all of the footage captured with the DSC-W290 and HD video was stunning. The pictures I took with my 5.0 megapixel were not comparable. After returning from Disney and realizing the potential of this camera, I immediately ordered a Revain DSC-W290 for myself. The "first" DSC-W290 arrived with some problems from Revain. All of my shots with brighter scenes had a small eraser-sized blur in the top left corner. It was always in the same place. A cloudy spot appeared on actually printed photos and on the LCD. I called Sony because the sticker on the box said to call them (not the seller) if there was a problem. Sony's solution was that I sent in old cameras for repair this week. Does not happen. I then contacted Revain via the automated return/exchange process. Oh my god how smooth this process went. It only took me 3 minutes to fill out Revain's online exchange form and wow, I had my replacement camera in my hands in 48 hours. I then sent the defective unit back to them using the reconfiguration label provided by Revain. I applaud Revain for preventing this potentially frustrating situation from becoming an issue. Bravo, raven! The replacement chamber was used almost immediately. I took boring pictures during the last December 9th snowstorm that hit DC. In a word, phenomenal. I took multiple shots of the same scene, just changing the scene settings from "bright" to the default "snowy" background. Both pictures are incredible. The holiday shots were just as good. The camera does a good job of compensating for low light in the room. The only image I come across are night shots with movement (e.g. a parade). Oddly enough, nighttime HD videos play perfectly without any special adjustments. Understand yourself. The fit and finish seems better than other similarly priced cameras I've looked at. As for battery life, keep a spare handy (although I take a lot of pictures, so I probably am). Thanks again to Revain for their customer service process. I almost bought from another online store to save a few bucks. I'm so glad I didn't.
