Review on Hydroluxe 1433 Showerhead Stainless All Chrome by Ben Swett

Luxury at a low price

My small apartment built in the 70's didn't have many luxury amenities, so I need to make my life more comfortable. Also, I live on the second floor, so I don't have the luxury of washing things outside. I did a little research before deciding on this guy. It had all the basic features I wanted - easy to install, two heads, pause function on both heads, powerful massage and mist, and a 4-5 foot extension hose. Installation took less than 5 minutes and I'm the least mechanical person on the planet. I was really surprised how quickly and easily I was able to connect it with no leaks. Be careful not to overtighten when installing as this may cause cracking. Underneath is hard plastic, but still plastic. I had it a year ago and it has never leaked and more importantly the heads have not discolored due to mineral build up. This is something that's a problem in the desert southwest and has happened with almost every other instrument I've ever owned. But it still looks almost new except for a few dents I put on it. The only good thing about this old building is the amazing water pressure. Probably because it was built before the rules were put in place so I was lucky to get lots of water at high speed. I didn't want it to affect the print so I pulled the little white plastic pin out of both heads. For me there is no big pressure. It still comes out a little in the off position, but not enough to get excited. If I wanted to turn off the water, I would turn it off against the wall. I love how I can feel each shot and hear it fall into place. Especially when I wash. I don't want to open my eyes, but I still need confirmation that I've switched to another mode. This is great for shaving your legs as you can control where the water is and when you want to rinse it off. I do a lot of body and hair scrubs, wash my face, and don't use water unless I'm actually using it. I like being able to control how much, when and where the water comes out. I was at my parents' house last weekend and I got so upset when I had to take a shower. Actually, all I ever want to do is shower in my own shower, and that's because I love my shower head so much. The shower hose makes cleaning your shower a breeze. I have no idea how people clean their tubs without some sort of hose. My back and knees hurt when I try to do things differently. I also use it to fill mop buckets or water containers for foot baths. I use the powerful massage setting to "clean" things that fit in my shower. I have aches and pains all the time as well as sinus issues. The Power Massage mode relieves tension in the shoulders and back and helps get rid of the pounding in the head when your sinuses hurt. Sometimes I turn on a strong massager and point it directly at my forehead, and after a few minutes I feel the tension ease. There's nothing more satisfying than taking a nice spa shower, shaving all your legs (not just your calves), going for a deep conditioner and a full body sugar scrub, and then, at the very end, putting both heads in an energizing cool water mist. It's like the last fog in a car wash. It washes away every tiny dot of product and when I turn off the water I feel like a new person. I didn't want to invest a lot of money in a rental product. I've tried other shower heads in the past and they've all sucked and either broken and lead-free or turned green due to mineral build-up. None of this happened after 11 months of daily and sometimes twice daily use. For the money, this is the best plastic shower head and hose combo I've seen. Don't be afraid of the word plastic. I don't know the technical term, but it's a reinforced PVC-like plastic that's strong and holds up well. Anyone who has showered here will tell you what a great shower I have. It really is a little slice of everyday luxury for less than $25. You won't find a better model in this price range.
