Doorbell cameras and cameras in general have come a long way in the last 10 years. I first bought a different brand doorbell camera about 4 years ago. It didn't even have batteries, and the batteries themselves were very expensive. I eventually returned it and after further research decided that the ring is indeed the best option for a battery powered doorbell cam. I have to say that this is the first camera from another manufacturer that seems to be a game changer. Can't comment on longevity as I've only been using it for a few days. Installation and setup is extremely easy. I wish it had the ability to set motion zones, but for now it seems good at not detecting everything like passing cars etc and only capturing someone approaching the camera. So it's a plus if it keeps going like this. I didn't charge it before use. It was 76% charged and is still at that level after 18 hours. So I think the battery life will be good. Unfortunately, you have to remove the camera to charge it. So no matter how long it takes to charge, it won't work. It's not uncommon, although it seems. All in all, this is a great camera at a great price!
