The briefcase felt solid. I have some strength issues in my fingers and had a hard time hooking the strap to attach it to the binder. That wouldn't hurt, but if you want to lay the briefcase fully open and flat you need to unhook the strap from the briefcase. I would have taken care of it, but I had to return it because it stunk of petrochemicals to high heaven. I'm sensitive to chemicals and couldn't even have them at home for a few minutes before I got a headache. Had to leave it outside until I could send it back. DO NOT ORDER THIS ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO CHEMICAL ODORS.
