CLIC reading glasses don't do much better than a lanyard. I like the molded neck strap as its shape keeps the goggles in place and prevents them from slipping off. I had no problem reading while reclined, but my chair doesn't have a cushion that's hard on my neck. I thought the glasses were resting on my chest as it appeared on TV when I saw someone wearing them. However, they are at a 90 degree angle to the chest. On my chest, they often stick together accidentally, and then it's very difficult for me to put them on when I'm wearing headphones. Headphones are one of the best aspects of these glasses. I wear full size bluetooth headphones around my neck when cycling and so far I have not lost them or gotten too close to them. I don't know how clear and everything, mine immediately became smeared and smudged from sunscreen, fingerprints, etc.
