The case came with no instructions. I don't usually see that as a problem. In this case, however, it was extremely difficult to disassemble the inner case to fit the iPad into the case. I was thinking of sending it back and waiting for my significant other to come home. I finally took it apart without damaging the case. When assembled, the case is very thin. This is my 8 year old iPad. Her previous case was much stronger and seemed more reliable. She loves the design of this new one. I don't think this case will absorb a bump to the floor or even a small fall off the couch. The stand is good and works perfectly. In general, the case is very stylish and beautiful. For younger children I would not consider.
