This is a generic brand so do not expect top quality finishes. They don't have thick finishes like big brands. I don't see any obvious defects and stains, but the surface is slightly scratched and fingerprints remain on it. There is no logo on the product, it is solid matte black. Goes well with our matte black bathroom fixtures. The bracket is invisible - screw the bracket on, then a small screw will attach the hook to the bracket. If you don't want to screw into a door or wall, there is another option (not included). It's called nanotape (silicone) and it sticks with no problem and comes off when you want it with no damage. Nanotape is a good investment for things like this, it holds up a few pounds and when you're done with it you can wash it off and reuse it, even in wet or damp environments.
