Review on πŸ‘Ά Topeak Babyseat II: Premium Disc Mount Rack for Ultimate Child Safety by Paul Wilson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good child seat *before the front belt broke*

I was glad it existed and I was able to get it and enjoy it with my 2 year old daughter for about 4-5 bike rides. It seemed like a really good car seat. Everything about it seemed great until on the fifth or sixth ride we went uphill and the front strap securing the child seat to my real bike snapped. The main purpose of this strap is to make sure the infant carrier doesn't recline too much - the infant carrier is still securely attached to the bike (thankfully) so the seat doesn't fall off the bike or cause damage to my bike. Daughter. Luckily I looked back while driving because I heard a *click*, and when I looked I saw my daughter essentially dangling, perfectly horizontal (parallel to the road) as if the strap had snapped, and so she was leaning back a full 180 degrees (so she was basically looking straight at the sky). I stopped immediately and had to walk the rest of the way while holding her upright in the car seat. Not sure why Topeak put such a thin strap on the front of the car seat, everything else on the car seat was fine except this one. It does not make sense. A weak point spoils the entire child seat. I've already passed the return/return window (about 3 weeks, I literally bought this item about 1.5 months ago) and so on. Very annoying.
