I like them (we also have a kala whale) and my 12 month old son likes them but doesn't like them. He likes to chew on them but I had to work hard to get him to reach for them and not other teethers/bath toys. Now he recognizes her and loves her, smiles and reaches out to her when he sees her, but it has taken some time. The paint peels off when you wipe them with napkins, so they fade. Hopefully getting the paint in his mouth/swallowing it won't be a problem for him. He seems to prefer Kala to this seahorse, I don't know why. Kala stands upright in the bathtub, but this one swims on its side - maybe that's somehow related? However, he loves to chew on this seahorse's nose and tail.
