Just what we need to get our Wii working again. After the original part stopped reading discs, we tried several cleaning methods, all of which didn't work. A simple search on Youtube suggested replacing the drive. This reader is very economical. You REALLY need a proper Y-head screwdriver. It was so easy my 12 year old son replaced it himself following the youtube instructions. Don't be intimidated by this renovation. You can do that! I also like that all of our data and game progress is still saved since we just swapped out the drive (instead of buying a new WII).
